Santa Cruz Carretas

Conscious tourism trip and community support to Wirikuta

We invite you to our volunteer trip to Santa Cruz de Carretas in the Sierra de Wirikuta, in order to support the community in the restoration of its main plaza and bring cultural activities to the children and youth of Carretas and promote ecological awareness.

Santa Cruz de Carretas is a community located at the foot of the Sierra de Catorce and that formerly, at the time of the mining boom was the base of the “carts” that came to download the inputs that were required in Real de Catorce, currently, the community also of facing some ecological problems derived from the bad management of waste, it lacks cultural offers where children, youth and adults can develop their creative potential.

We invite you to share this experience of collaboration, friendship and learning, in favor of the communities in Wirikuta, in which, in addition, you will have the opportunity to learn to make various recycled materials and live directly with the local people, as well as, live the experience of knowing one of the most emblematic sites of the Sierra de Catorce.

Some of the activities we will carry out are:

  • Construction of the school wall
  • Recycling workshop
  • River cleaning and environmental care talk
  • Temazcal
  • Theater
  • Cultural Vervena
  • Mexican night

French, Italian and German translators are available at additional cost. Discount price for groups (5 persons min.)

Tu donativo nos permitirá comprar los materiales necesarios para  rehabilitación de la plaza central, realizar las actividades culturales y a solventar tus gastos de transportación, hospedaje y alimentos, con una derrama económicoa para la población de Wirikuta.
